At Helmdon Acorns Pre-school, we also offer Forest School sessions which all children have the opportunity to do while they are with us. Forest School sessions are run weekly and the day is changed every half term to allow all children to enjoy this experience.
Forest School is delivered in our dedicated woodland area next to our setting and the sessions are run by our qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader Susanna Morgan.
Forest School offers opportunities to develop self-confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning in a wooded environment. The children initiate their learning and development and take appropriate risks. It allows creative engagement with their peers as they participate in various planned activities.
Forest School encourages children to develop a strong positive relationship with nature, appreciating and caring for the environment. Practical life skills are learnt, using tools where appropriate as the children enjoy, learn and develop.
